I never planned on becoming a Personal Trainer, but looking back, I can see that it was always the direction I was heading. The journey here was filled with twists, turns, and rejections—from officer application denials to unexpected career shifts. Each challenge brought me closer to a profound clarity about my true purpose: the betterment of others. Helping others improve became not just a goal but the foundation of my identity.

Whether it be nutrition or training your mobility, it's important to understand how crucial periodization is. Athletes utilize it in their training regimen to not only win but to break world records in the process. Periodization is about managing the stress we accumulate.
Deficit for Weight Loss: When you are looking to lose weight, you aim for a deficit. It’s normal to be hungry when in a deficit. Hunger is a form of stress and we need stress to drive adaptation and hit our weight goals.
Surplus for Muscle Gain: When you are looking to pack on muscle, you aim for a surplus.
Reverse Dieting: Once we hit our goal weight, it’s time to reverse diet, which means to ditch the deficit and aim to maintain. Being on a deficit for too long can lead to more stress than the body can handle and cause problems for our hormones, cortisol especially as it's the stress hormone.
That's why recovery is placed at the top because in order to create any meaningful and lasting change, you have to be on top of your recovery.
